The clinic had a busy Spring quarter however July saw us have our busiest month yet, with a record number of new patients being referred. We also reached a centenary milestone in early August with 100 different veterinary practices referring patients to us.
We are certainly seeing a variety of weird and wonderful cases which of course is why we’re here! A particularly memorable case is that of a Springer Spaniel who had a thorn inside of his eye. The thorn had embedded itself within the iris and had become encapsulated. This required specialised microsurgical equipment and Robert’s excellent intra-ocular surgical skills to delicately remove, and we are pleased to report the surgery was a great success! The photo shows the thorn prior to surgical removal, and the video showing the moment it was removed can be seen on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
We are all ready for our summer holidays and hope that you and your furry friends are enjoying a break too. We will be back with another post soon with updates on some more exciting and challenging cases that we have had the pleasure of treating.
